Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said that Ukraine had made early payments to Russia in September for the consumed natural gas.

Ukraine yesterday, the day before the deadline envisaged by the agreement, paid off debts for gas deliveries in September. PrimeMinister stressed that the statement by the Secretariat of the President of the impossibility of timely payments to Russia for gas does not correspond to reality.

According to the contract dated January 19, 2009, NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine is obliged to send monthly Gazprom payments for gas not later than 7 of the month following the delivery. At the first non-payment contract between the companies provides for the transition to a system of advance payments.
