Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin considers mutually acceptable agreement with Belarus on Russia"s export duty for oil and declares its intention to continue to establish a single economic space. He said this today at a meeting of the Presidium of the RF Government.

"We were fairly complex and lengthy, but at the same time constructive talks with our Belarusian partners in the supply of crude oil to the republic. In the end we were able to reach a mutually acceptable solution" - said Putin.
He said that Russia"s oil duty-free raw materials will be supplied to Belarus in full for internal purposes. At the same time, all that relates to additional volumes, which are processee63d and then sent for export to third countries - should be taxed at the operating mode, he added.

"We proceed from the logic of integration processes. We will continue to develop these processes, including the establishment of a unified economic space and, accordingly, we will build our domestic legislation. But this is the future", - Putin said.

As reported on 27 January this year Russia and Belarus signed a contract to supply oil.
Russia and Belarus to the beginning of 2010 failed to sign the agreement on trade in oil. Russia has stated that in case of refusal to sign the agreement from January 1, Belarus will pay 100% customs duties on Russia"s oil. Minsk, in turn, insisted on a preferential customs regime. Until 2010 Russia delivered oil to Belarus at a reduced export tax, is one third of that which is paid when exported to other countries.
