Today in Ukraine arrive Inspector Office Food and Veterinary (FVO) of the European Commission on Health and Consumer Protection. During the visit, European officials plan to visit 5 domestic dairy enterprises, which in future would like to deliver their products to the European market.

European inspectors will stay in Ukraine for two weeks - from 7 to 20 September. As the BUSINESS, during which time they plan to visit 5 Ukrainian dairy enterprises - Romensky Dairy, Nedrigaylovsky Creamery, Menskii Cheese (all 3 companies are part of the DC Milkiland Ukraine ), as well as Belotserkovsky dairy factory (the management company Terra Food ) and Dubnomoloko ( West Milk Group ).

As explained press secretary of the State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine Anatoly Osadchy, to the arrival of specialists is not an audit of specific dairy operations that want to deliver their products to the EU and the system of control over product quality as a whole. First European officials will not attend production capacity of dairy enterprises, and raw material base (dairy farms) and the state veterinary laboratories that monitor the safety of raw materials and finished products. Once validated, European experts have a 2-month period to provide the test results to the Ukrainian side.

If they are positive, then the State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine will receive the right to decide which of the companies can deliver their products to the European Union. These companies still have to be certified in accordance with EU requirements. At best, the Ukrainian products (mostly cheese and milk) can get on the shelves of European stores at least a year or two.

This is the second coming of European inspectors on Ukrainian dairy plants. Last summer, officials from the European Commission inspected 9 dairy enterprises. One of the main claims on the results of last year's audit division of powers of central authorities responsible for overseeing the security of raw materials and products (Board of Veterinary Medicine and the Ministry of Health). There have been issues with European experts and the quality of raw milk and finished dairy products.

So, Ukrainian producers almost do not produce milk-class, but such products are permitted for consumption in the EU. The reason for this situation is clear: low quality of raw milk. The share of raw milk from farms in Ukraine are no more than 30-35%. The rest of the milk produced individual farms, which can not but affect the quality of the finished product. In Europe simply is no such thing as the purchase of milk from the peasants. They milk harvest only on farms. We are all still at a primitive level, - said Alexander Boyanovsky, Deputy Director of feedstock company Bimala .
