Gazprom Neft has entered into a general cooperation agreement with the Government of the Murmansk region in the 2009-2011 biennium. The document was signed by Chairman of the Gazprom oil Alexander Dyukov and the Governor of Murmansk Region Dmitri Dmitrienko.

The main directions of cooperation of the Government of the field and Gazprom oil will refer to stimulate investment, science, technology and innovation in the territory of the Murmansk region. Particular attention will be given to the development of transport infrastructure related to the development of hydrocarbon deposits on the shelf of the Western Arctic.

Under the agreement, Gazprom Neft will cooperate with the regional industrial enterprises in the possible acquisition of oil and gas equipment and provide local consumers with oil products. Much attention will also be given to the development and implementation of energy-saving technologies and work to ensure environmental security and environmental management in the region.
